SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga High School quarterback Daylon Keith is this week’s ‘Star Player of the Game’ presented by Star Physical Therapy.
In the Aggies’ thrilling 34-28 playoff-clinching win on the road Munford Friday night Keith played a pivotal role not only on offense, but defense as well.
The senior played both ways Friday night, along with many of his teammates, leading the Aggies on offense and making game changing plays in the defensive backfield.
At quarterback, Keith got the job done on the ground and through the air. Keith rushed for 60 yards on 13 carries for two scores while throwing for 61 more and another touchdown.
On defense, Keith forced a fumble from the safety position after taking the ball out of the Munford quarterback’s hand showing shades of Alabama’s George Teague in the 1992 Sugar Bowl vs. Miami.
The Aggies are off this Friday night, but will go on the road to Jasper on Nov. 9 for the first round of the playoffs.
