SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Tyler Thompson has been one of the best high school pitchers in the area over the last two seasons.
Today, the Aggie senior signed to play baseball at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
Thompson, surrounded by teammates, coaches and family, inked the deal in the Sylacauga High School Media Center.
Thompson has been impressive on the rubber in his senior campaign. He has a sub .80 ERA and has recorded over 50 strike outs. In the Aggies’ first round playoff series he was even better. Against the Ramsay Rams, Thompson threw five shutout innings and struck out 12 batters.
“Everything he has received he has earned,” said SHS Head Coach Jeff Bell. “He puts in the work day in and day out, and you know what you’re going to get with him. Huntingdon is getting a good one.”
Thompson is the third Aggie senior to sign to play baseball in college, joining Zach Dew and Brady Davis.
