SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga’s Affordable Heating and Air won RadioAlabama’s ‘Listen and Win While You Work in November‘ campaign last month.
Throughout November RadioAlabama employees hit the streets to find businesses listening to one of its stations. If the business was listening, every employee in the store won $20 in cash and the business was entered to win a grand prize consisting of a flat-screen television, advertising and a $1,000 check to donate to a charity of its choosing.
Sylacauga’s Affordable Heating and Air chose to donate to the Sylacauga Police Department as it partners with the Department of Human Resources during the Christmas season to ensure children have a Christmas to remember. Today, DHR has 88 children in foster care according to Sylacauga Police Chief Kelley Johnson.
“This is the first major donation we have received this year. We partner with DHR and they give us a list of gifts the kids are asking for, so it’s something they want for Christmas,” Johnson said. “The gifts go to kids directly from our area.”
Adam and Kristy Hodnett own and operate Affordable Heating and Air and were excited to make a difference this holiday season. “We’re thrilled to have won this and be able to give back to the community,” said Adam Hodnett. “This will help kids who need it and its the time of year whee giving back is important.”
