SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga City Schools has named Adam Brewer as the new head baseball coach at Sylacauga High School, marking a homecoming for the former Aggie standout and state champion.
A 1999 Sylacauga graduate, Brewer played a key role in securing multiple state titles and setting records as part of the school’s storied baseball program. He went on to play at Auburn University and later at Jacksonville State University, where he earned a degree in physical education in 2004.
Brewer brings more than 20 years of coaching and education experience, having spent time at Columbiana Middle School, Shelby County High School, and Centre High School. Most recently, he volunteered with the middle school baseball team at Fayetteville High School.
“Coach Brewer brings a wealth of experience, a strong work ethic, and a deep love for Sylacauga baseball,” said Sylacauga High School Principal Gary Rivers. “He knows what it means to wear the Aggie uniform, and we’re thrilled to have him back leading our program.”
Brewer said he’s looking to build on Sylacauga’s winning tradition by emphasizing discipline, fundamentals, and character development on and off the field.
“Coming back to coach at Sylacauga High School is truly special,” Brewer said. “This community and this program have meant everything to me. I’m honored to be part of its future.”
Brewer’s return is expected to energize the Aggie baseball program as preparations begin for the upcoming season.
