A traffic fatality reported in a Talladega County wreck over the weekend

TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – A two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:35 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, has claimed the life of an Alexandria woman.

Sonia Stoddard, 60, was fatally injured when the 2017 Nissan Rogue she was driving collided head-on with a 2016 Jeep Patriot driven by Antonio D. Ragland, 44, of Talladega.

Stoddard was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ragland was injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. A passenger in the Nissan, Steven B. Stoddard, 71, of Alexandria as well, was also injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on Hwy 21 near Garrison Ln., approximately five miles north of the Talladega city limits, in Talladega County. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate.
