CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Corrections has reported the escape of 52-year-old Donald Wayne Graham Jr. from its Childersburg Community Based Facility and Community Work Center at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10.
Graham, a 5’11”, 258 lb., white male with gray hair and brown eyes, was wearing a red and blue plaid shirt, denim jeans, and a white hat. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Oct. 28, 2019, for a Burglary II conviction. The crime was committed in Mobile Co.
The Childersburg facility opened in 1990 and is located at 13501 Plant Road in Alpine.
According to ADOC’s definitions, Graham’s “minimum-community” custody level is appropriate for inmates who have demonstrated the ability to adjust to semi-structured environment and/or inmates who are nearing the end of their incarceration in order to transition and reintegrate back into the community. “Inmates in this custody are allowed gainful employment in the community on a full-time basis and will be supervised in community based facilities when not working.”
