SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The 18th annual Ultimate Ball Drop, which promises to be an unforgettable spectacle and a great cause for the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement, now has tickets available for sale.
This event, benefiting the SAFE Family Services Center, is set to take place on Thursday, Oct. 26, just before the B.B. Comer vs. Fayetteville football game.
This unique fundraiser will feature over 3,000 golf balls plummeting from a 165-ton crane.
All proceeds from the Ultimate Ball Drop will support individuals and families striving to achieve their goals through the programs and services offered by SAFE Family Services Center.
SAFE Family Services Center expanded its reach in January 2022 when it welcomed the FIRST Family Services Center into its fold, enhancing its ability to serve the Talladega County region. The Ultimate Ball Drop is SAFE’s primary fundraising event.
Funds generated from this event contribute to a wide range of initiatives, including the BRIDGES after-school and summer school programs, a community garden featuring an agriscience program, home visitation programs, workforce training, early intervention, public transportation, relationship education, parenting classes, and case management for individuals of all ages. Additionally, the funds support SAFE’s Dance and Performing Arts Company.
For just $5, you can purchase a numbered ticket, available online at www.safefamilyservicescenter.com or by calling SAFE at (256) 245-4343. Each numbered ticket corresponds to a golf ball that will be dropped from the crane. The owners of the two balls that either fall into the hole or come closest to it will be invited to participate in a “Ultimate Putt-Off” game to determine the winner of a $5,000 prize.
This thrilling putt-off will be scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time by the two winners, and it’s not necessary to be present at the ball drop to win. However, the final two winners or their designees must be present for the “Ultimate Putt-Off.”
The success of this event would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors, including Taylor and Lydia Pursell, Conn Equipment, and Swen Communications.
