CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a bomb threat received by Childersburg High School on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Law enforcement was immediately alerted to the telephone threat at approximately 12:40 p.m.
A 17-year-old male student at Childersburg High School was charged with Terrorist Threats, and an investigation is continuing.
Classes at Childersburg High School and Childersburg Middle School were moved to remote learning on Thursday out of an abundance of caution, according to CPD. Local police are being assisted by the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office, the East Metro Alabama Crime Center, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Gadsden Field Office, and the Talladega County Board of Education.
