SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Around midnight, the Childersburg Police Department asked for the public’s help on social media in the case of 15–old Miyaa McCormick, who the department said was taken from her grandmother’s residence.

According to a CPD Facebook post, McCormick, a black female, was last seen at her grandmother’s residence.

CPD wrote “[McCormick] was outside when an older model sedan (white and gray with faded/rusted paint on the passenger side) pulled up to the residence and a stocky black male of medium height, possibly between the age of 16 and 20, wearing a hoodie and a backpack, exited the vehicle and grabbed Miyaa and put her in the back seat of the vehicle before driving away.”

McCormick was last seen wearing red pants, a white t-shirt, and a gray jacket. She is 5-feet 6-inches tall and 110 pounds.

If you see her or anything matching the suspect/vehicle description, contact Talladega County Central Dispatch directly via 911.
