CHIDLERSBURG, Ala. – If you visited Renasant Bank through the day Friday, you may have noticed employees dressed up in a multitude of costumes including a scare crow, a mechanic, a bunny, a devil and even a convict.
Yes…a convict in the bank.
Among all the pink decorations, the festive employees brightened up with big smiles as they welcomed guests. Inside, the incredible smell of chili filled the air.
Each of the ladies at Renasant Bank worked hard preparing their crock pots to compete in a chili cook-off.
This was no ordinary contest though. Yes, there will be bragging rights on who had the best batch of chili, of course, but it was for a wonderful cause. All proceeds will go directly to Breast Cancer Research of Alabama in support of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Along with the chili cook-off, the bank also raised donations and awareness of Breast Cancer Awareness with a raffle, trick-or-treat, and a coloring contest for kids.
As for the best chili…I’ll keep that to myself. Rest assured, my bowl was clean.
