SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The streets of Sylacauga will be full of Christmas cheer tonight.
At 6:00 p.m. tonight, numerous floats representing different businesses and organizations, the marching bands from Sylacauga High School and B.B. Comer High School, and Santa Claus himself will make their way throughout downtown Sylacauga in a single-file line during the 2021 Sylacauga Christmas Parade.
Those participating in the parade are asked to arrive at the Legion Stadium Sylacauga fieldhouse at 4:30 p.m. to find their place within the procession.
The parade will start and progress down Broadway Ave. before turning onto W. Fort Williams St. and then right onto Norton Ave. to finish the home stretch of the parade at Sylacauga High School.
Earlier in the week, the weather forecast caused a slight bit of worry for the parade organizers. However, as of the current time of this article writing (12:30 p.m.), there is only a 10-20 percent chance of rain.
The Sylacauga Christmas Parade’s reputation has grown to one of the largest in the state.
“It’s another opportunity to gather the community together to celebrate Christmas,” Laura Strickland, Executive Director of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce said about the parade. “A lot of families have made this event a tradition.”
