SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Four outstanding teachers were recognized as their school’s Teacher of the Year at the January meeting of the Sylacauga Board of Education.
Barrie Hamilton (Indian Valley Elementary,) Ellen Kerce (Pinecrest Elementary,) Beth Steers (Nichols-Lawson Middle,) and Amethyst Vineyard (Sylacauga High) were selected for the honor by peers from each respective school.
“These teachers are all excellent in their fields, and their professionalism inspires other teachers to greatness,” said Dr. Jon Segars.” The fact they were chosen by their own peers demonstrates the impact they have made with students and fellow teachers and I congratulate them for this honor.”
