SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Toyota of Sylacauga, partnered with The Sylacauga City Schools (SCS) Foundation, awarded the October sales check at Nichols-Lawson Middle School Wednesday morning.
Beginning in 2021, Toyota of Sylacauga started a deal with SCS to give $30 per vehicle sold to the school system in a monthly sum. Throughout the year the contribution has totaled $12,430. Wednesday, the dealership gave SCS another $930 which goes towards providing new teaching materials and equipment for students across all curricula.
The presentation of the check took place in Ms. Jaclyn Robinson’s eighth-grade science class. Prior donations this year have afforded Robinson to upgrade the lab equipment in her classroom.
“Sylacauga City Schools Foundation is blessed to have a partnership with Toyota of Sylacauga that directly impacts the learning experience and education of our students in Sylacauga,” said Executive Director of the SCS Foundation Carol Sprayberry. “The generosity of Toyota to donate $30 for every new car sold is unsurpassed.”
With two months left in the calendar year there is still opportunity for more money to be raised through the partnership deal.
