ROCKFORD, Ala. - On Monday afternoon at 2:30, 27-year-old Shane Anthony Vernon, a resident of Rockford, escaped form the Coosa County Jail for the second time in a matter of weeks. His story made national headlines, even appearing on national network news.

Talladega Co. unemployment rate sits at 4%; state rate drops to 3.6%

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced on Friday that Alabama’s preliminary, seasonally adjusted October unemployment rate is 3.6%, down from September’s previous record-tying rate of 3.8%, and well below October 2016’s rate of 6.1%.

Governor Ivey Announces $33 Million for Restoration and Conservation Projects in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Governor Kay Ivey on Tuesday announced the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) has approved more than $33.5 million for five new projects and amendments to two existing projects which focus on the restoration and conservation of Alabama’s natural resources.
