ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College celebrated the completion of two renovated campus spaces with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at its Alexander City campus.

College leaders, community partners, faculty, staff, and students gathered to mark the reopening of the campus library and the newly modernized, 315-seat theater in the HEA Building.

The projects feature interior upgrades and student-focused improvements designed to support academic success, enhance campus life, and strengthen connections with the surrounding community.

The redesigned library includes improved classrooms with large windows overlooking campus, newly equipped classrooms, and laboratories for the chemistry, biology, math, and English departments, student study areas, and easier access to resources and student services.

Its central location also allows students to gather between classes, athletic events, and other campus activities.

“The renovated library was designed specifically for CACC students and their daily path through campus,” said Cindy Entrekin, Central Alabama Community College’s Dean of Students. “When learning and support services are closer together, students stay more connected and focused on reaching their goals.”

The HEA Building theater has been renovated into a contemporary venue equipped to host concerts, guest speakers, student performances, and presentations.

The 315-seat facility will serve as a gathering place for campus and community events. Partnerships with local organizations, including Alex City Arts, are expected to bring additional programming and community members to campus.

“This renovation is a win-win for our students and the Alexander City community,” said Central Alabama Community College President Jeff Lynn. “We are so excited to provide a first-class venue like this for community events and for our students who are interested in arts, music, and theater.”

The renovations reflect the college’s continued investment in facilities that serve students and the communities surrounding its campuses.

Prospective students, families, and community members can schedule a campus visit through www.cacc.edu to tour the facilities and learn more about educational opportunities at Central Alabama Community College.
