SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce will bring women from across the community together on Friday, Oct. 16 for its 2026 connectHER Women’s Conference.
Presented by Coosa Valley Medical Center, the event is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will feature this year’s theme, “Pep Talks & PJs.” Organizers say the theme is intended to create the relaxed atmosphere of a girls’ night while making room for conversations, humor, and encouragement.
Rather than following a traditional conference format, the event will feature a collection of brief presentations from women discussing personal experiences and offering practical insight on topics ranging from burnout and feeling overwhelmed to pursuing goals, handling life’s difficulties, and starting fresh.
Six speakers are scheduled to participate: Cierra Cottman, Owner of Enspire Executive Solutions and the event’s emcee; Lauren Linahan of WBHM 90.3; Maegan Williams-Pope of Watch Me Bloom; Tiara Brumberg of The Middle ADHD Coaching; Susan Carothers of SC Events & Communication; and Michelle Norwood of A Little Something Extra Ice Cream.
The Chamber said the conference is intended for women at all points in life, including college students, young professionals, mothers, entrepreneurs, retirees, and grandmothers. The goal is to provide an opportunity for women of different generations and backgrounds to meet, exchange perspectives, and encourage one another.
Attendees also will receive breakfast and lunch, along with the conference’s signature tote bag. Another returning attraction is the basket pull, which gives attendees the chance to win instant-prize baskets priced at $25 each.
The event also will include the presentation of the 2026 Greater Sylacauga Area Woman of the Year. An independent panel made up of judges from outside the Sylacauga area selected the honoree, who will be recognized for her contributions to the community and the influence she has had on others.
Chamber officials described the conference as a chance for women to temporarily set aside their daily responsibilities, focus on themselves, and strengthen connections within the community.
