South Talladega County football recap for Sept. 4

TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – Here’s last week’s results for B.B. Comer, Childersburg, Fayetteville, and Sylacauga on the gridiron:

SYLACAUGA – The Sylacauga Aggies dropped their first contest of the year to a very good Leeds team by a score of 57-7. Chris Smelley’s Aggies are now 2-1 on the season and 0-1 in the region. The Aggies are on the road this week at Jacksonville.

B.B. COMER – Adam Fossett’s cats lost another game to go 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the region. They were defeated by a top-ranked Reeltown Rebel team by a score of 49-0. The Tigers return home this Friday to face the Dadeville Tigers.

CHILDERSBURG – How about the 3-0 Childersburg Tigers! Coach Matt Zedaker’s cats remain unblemished and win their first region game in two years. The Tigers are 3-0 on the year and 1-0 in the region for the first time in many years. They defeated Munford 28-10 last Friday and will stay at home this Friday for Homecoming as they welcome in Ashville.

FAYETTEVILLE – The Fayetteville Wolves were off last week. Sitting at 0-2 for the year, Coach John Limbaugh’s squad heads to LaFayette this Friday night.
