ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Hospital leaders and community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Russell Medical’s new Henderson Surgery Suite, a $1.5 million addition designed to enhance surgical services at the Alexander City hospital.
The expansion is expected to create a more streamlined and comfortable experience for surgical patients by bringing several services together in one location. The suite includes surgical check-in areas, physician offices, and a dedicated physician lounge. A new chapel is also located nearby, providing a quiet space for patients’ families.
Before the Henderson Surgery Suite opened, Russell Medical’s surgical services were spread across multiple floors and areas of the hospital. That required patients and their families to navigate complex hallways and corridors during an already stressful time.
The project was made possible through a $1.5 million donation to the Russell Medical Foundation from Dwight and Sherry Henderson.
