SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Dr. Jami Frost has been named interim principal of Pinecrest Elementary School, filling a leadership vacancy created by the departure of Dr. Paula Bruno, Sylacauga City Schools officials announced following a called board meeting on Tuesday, July 28.
Frost brings more than 30 years of experience in education and school administration to the role. Before joining Sylacauga City Schools, she spent her career in Georgia, most recently serving with Cherokee County Schools as interim local school administrator and interim chief academic and accountability officer.
During her time in Cherokee County, Frost developed a district literacy framework and assessment dashboard designed to strengthen school improvement efforts. School officials said that experience aligns well with Pinecrest’s literacy initiatives and the requirements of Alabama’s Literacy Act for third grade students.
Throughout her career, Frost has focused on school improvement through teacher and leadership development, data-driven instruction, and collaboration among students, families, educators, and community members. She said her leadership philosophy centers on creating conditions that support effective teaching and learning.
“After more than 30 years in education, I continue to be inspired by the opportunity to serve students, teachers, and school communities,” Frost said. “The most important work of a school leader is creating the conditions where great teaching and learning can happen every day.”
Frost said she plans to help build a school culture built on relationships, trust, collaboration, and high expectations while keeping student success at the center of decision-making.
Sylacauga City Schools Superintendent Dr. Michele Eller welcomed Frost’s appointment.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Frost join our Aggie Family,” Dr. Eller said. “Her wealth of knowledge and experience as a school leader will be an asset to the staff and students at Pinecrest.”
