CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Rodeo fans will have two opportunities to enjoy professional rodeo action when the Raising the Roof for Jesus Rodeo comes to Cedar Creek Cowboy Church on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1.
The event will be held at Cedar Creek Cowboy Church, located at 6760 Childersburg Fayetteville Hwy, with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. each night. Mutton Bustin’ competition begins at 7:00 p.m., followed by the professional rodeo at 8:00 p.m.
The rodeo will feature cowboys and cowgirls from the Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, cowgirls barrel racing, and bull riding. Professional rodeo entertainer “Big Hat Roxy” will also perform during the event.
Produced by the 11-time SPRA Stock Contractor of the Year, the rodeo is expected to draw competitors and spectators from across the region.
Mutton Bustin’ is open to children ages seven and younger with a 70-pound weight limit. Registration begins one hour before the rodeo, and the entry fee is $30. Each participant will be eligible to ride once.
Admission is $20 for adults and youth ages 13 and older, $10 for children ages 6-12, and free for children five and younger. Organizers note that dogs are not permitted at the event.
