STATEWIDE, Ala. – Alabama’s Back-to-Schol sales tax holiday weekend has been scheduled fbegins 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 17, and ends midnight on Sunday, July 19.
During many back to school purchases will be exempt from state sales taxes, as well as county and municipal sales taxes in jurisdictions that choose to participate.
Included items include:
Clothing – items $156 or less per article – shirts, pants, dresses, shoes, jackets, rain jackets, school uniforms, diapers, and other everyday apparel;
School Supplies – items $78 or less per item – notebooks, binders, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, glue, scissors, backpacks, lunch boxes, calculators, folders, and other school-related supplies;
Computers and Software – on a single purchase up to $1,173 – desktop computers, laptops, computer software, printers, printer supplies, and storage media. Computers must be sold as a package with CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers to qualify;
