ASHVILLE, Ala. – On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 2:20 p.m., St. Clair County 911 received a call regarding a deceased individual found inside a residence in the 9000 block of Shoal Creek Road in Ashville.
Deputies responded to the scene and notified the St. Clair County Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators secured the residence and initiated an immediate investigation.
The victim was identified as 68-year-old Eddie D. Lee of Ashville. Mr. Lee was pronounced deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
As the investigation progressed, investigators identified Tanya Belzer as a suspect in Mr. Lee’s death. Tanya Belzer was located in Lincoln, Alabama, and interviewed by St. Clair County investigators.
Following the investigation, Belzer was arrested and charged with Murder in connection with the death of Eddie D. Lee. She is currently being held in the St. Clair County Jail on a $1,500,000 bond.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. No additional details are being released at this time.
