SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga High School turned in a strong performance at the 2026 Talladega County Track Meet, highlighted by a record-breaking run from its 4×100-meter relay team.
Corbyn Patterson, DeArian “Juice” Riley, Tre Wright, and Zakorien Chambliss finished first in the event with a time of 42.83 seconds, breaking the previous record of 43.09 set in 2024.
The Aggies had 22 total medalists and finished third overall in the meet.
On the boys’ side, Jeremiah Crawford placed first in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter hurdles. Corbyn Patterson finished second in the 400 meters. Qun Lewis placed second in the 800 meters, with Donovan Averette finishing third. Marcel Harrison finished third in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
The boys’ 4×800-meter relay team (Jayden Sanders, Qun Lewis, Camden Wise, and Donovan Averette) placed first, as did the 4×400-meter relay team (Corbyn Patterson, Tre Wright, Qun Lewis, and Jeremiah Crawford).
For the girls, JaMaiya Meeks placed first in the 100-meter hurdles. Carlie Kelly finished second and Kennadi Thomas third in the same event. Sage Wytch finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100 meters, while Cynia Parker placed third in the 300-meter hurdles. Ny’La Nelson finished second in the 400 meters.
The girls’ 4×400-meter relay team (Carlie Kelly, Ny’La Nelson, Cynia Parker, and Sage Wytch) placed first. The 4×800-meter relay (Hailey Cannon, Jada Fluker, Saniya Hunter, and Alaina Kissic) and 4×100-meter relay (Ny’La Nelson, Khaleigha Jordan, Cynia Parker, and Sage Wytch) each finished third.
In field events, Jordyn Thomas placed first in the long jump and third in the triple jump.
