Sylacauga police arrest suspect after 80-year-old man stabbed eight times at his home

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – An 80-year-old Sylacauga man was stabbed eight times at his home in the 800 block of N Main Ave., according to authorities.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to make his way to his front porch, where he flagged down a passerby. The individual called police, and emergency responders transported the man to UAB Hospital for treatment. His condition is not immediately available.

Police said a suspect was arrested shortly after the attack. Officers located the woman in City Park, a short distance from the victim’s home, and took her into custody. She was transported to the Sylacauga Police Department for questioning.

Investigators have not released the names of those involved or a possible motive. The incident remains under investigation as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
