CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The 50-State US250 Tour will bring a mix of history and entertainment to Childersburg during a two-day stop on Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12.

The national tour, which aims to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, features events in all 50 states highlighting history, art, music, and civic engagement.

In downtown Childersburg, the tour’s “Freedom Village” will be set up in the First Baptist Church parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days. The free event will include live entertainment on a local stage, historical reenactments, vendor booths, children’s activities, and food options.

Organizer Tony Griffith said the goal of the tour is to inspire patriotism and connect communities.

“The point of the tour is to reignite a sense of patriotism for the nation’s first 250 years,” Griffith said. “It’s a totally nonpartisan event for friends and neighbors to enjoy, hopefully reaching the younger generation.”

Events continue Sunday with a morning worship service at First Baptist Church, followed by a ticketed concert at the former John Cox Stadium at 6:00 p.m. Performers include Natasha Owens, Kaitlyn Crocker, Griffith, and country artist Easton Corbin.

Concert tickets are $25, with preferred seating available for $40. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
