ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Seven student leaders from Central Alabama Community College will receive an international honor from Phi Theta Kappa during the organization’s 2026 International Convention later this month in Baltimore.

Rebekah Burton, Kylie Davis, Luke Hanks, Abigail Hyatt, Chloe Russek, Noah White, and Kenny York will be recognized with the Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Hallmark Award, one of the society’s most competitive international honors.

Each year, only 30 chapters worldwide are selected for the award, which recognizes exceptional leadership, collaboration, and commitment to Phi Theta Kappa’s mission of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.

Throughout the academic year, the students worked together to organize chapter initiatives, coordinate service projects and fellowship activities, and promote a culture of scholarship and leadership among their peers.

Central Alabama Community College President Jeff Lynn said the recognition highlights the strength of student leadership at the institution.

“To be named among only 30 chapters worldwide is an extraordinary achievement,” Lynn said. “We are incredibly proud of these students and the example they set for others.”

Phi Theta Kappa advisor Maribeth Farr said the officers demonstrated teamwork, integrity, and purpose while guiding the chapter’s programs and activities.

“I am incredibly proud of their ability to lead as a unified team,” said Farr.

The convention will bring together top chapters and student leaders from across the United States and other countries to celebrate achievement and share leadership ideas.

Award recipients will be formally recognized during the convention ceremony, set for March 26-28.
