COOSA COUNTY, Ala – U.S. Sen. Katie Britt has announced she helped secure over $28.7 million for Central Alabama through her role on the Senate Committee on Appropriations. The funding, part of three Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations bills, will support various infrastructure and development projects in the region.

Among the many beneficiaries of her work is Coosa County, whose Coosa County Emergency Medical Service’s ambulance procurement project will receive $300,000.

Sen. Britt also secured over $5.7 million for the Alabama Community College System through the FY26 LHHS Appropriations Act, aimed at enhancing workforce development programming. “I’m extremely proud to have secured $5.7 million for the Alabama Community College System,” Britt said. “The funds will be used for system-wide workforce development programming, which will unlock the potential of Alabamians across our state and provide opportunities for our workforce to expand and improve.”
