TALLADEGA, Ala. – Two people been charged with Murder and Robbery in Talladega County in the death of Patrick Slade Boothe, a Jacksonville man, who had been reported missing on January 23, 2026.

34-year-old Jesse Austin Heald of Talladega has been charged with Capital Murder and Robbery 1st Degree. 35-year-old Tiffani Renee Nichol has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree. Both had preliminary court appearances Friday before Talladega County Circuit Judge Chad Woodruff.

After a search involving multiple agencies, Boothe’s body was located Thursday in Talladega County. No official cause of death was released, but the District Attorney’s office said that the capital murder charge against Heald stemmed from the allegation that Boothe was killed inside a vehicle by Heald discharging a firearm into it.

Both defendants are expected to have court appearances in Talladega County March to determine if evidence is sufficient for the cases to be sent to a grand jury.
