SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Childersburg man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Sylacauga resident found dead inside his home earlier this month, according to the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called on Sunday, Nov. 15 to a residence in the 1700 block of Odena Road North, where they found 31-year-old Frank Wesley Davies IV shot inside the home.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances of the shooting.
Following an investigation, deputies identified 36-year-old Joshua Thomas Bettis as a suspect. Bettis was arrested Friday, Nov. 21 and charged with murder, the sheriff’s office said.
Bettis is being held in the Talladega County Jail pending an initial appearance. Authorities did not immediately disclose a possible motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.
