SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Animal Shelter is partnering with Sylacauga Parks and Recreation to host a community Dog Walk on Saturday, July 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Sylaward Trail at Lake Howard.
The offsite event invites volunteers to walk 10 adoptable shelter dogs along the scenic trail, with opportunities for the pups to cool off in the lake. The event replaces the shelter’s usual Saturday volunteer walk session, and the shelter will be closed during this time.
Participants can enjoy complimentary hot dogs, chips and drinks following their walk, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.
Organizers encourage attendees to “walk a dog, get a dog,” with adoption information available on site.
