SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga High School’s graduation ceremony has been moved to Wednesday, May 21, at 7:00 p.m. at Legion Stadium due to the threat of inclement weather possible on Tuesday night.
Graduation practice will still take place Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., during which seniors will receive 15 tickets each. A Senior Sunset celebration will follow.
The schedule change also affects the SHS Aggie Theatre. The International Thespian Society inductions and the annual Theatre Banquet, originally set for Wednesday, will now be held Tuesday. Inductions begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by the potluck-style banquet at 5:00 p.m.
School officials said on social media that the decision to postpone graduation was made with the safety and comfort of families and friends in mind.
