CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Next Saturday, April 1, the Kiwanis Club of Childersburg is hosting the inaugural Ben Nelson 5K Fun Run/Walk.
The 5K will start early around 7:45 a.m. with the Fun Run/Walk set to begin 15 minutes later at 8:00 a.m.
The deadline to pre-register is this Saturday, March 25. Pre-registration fees are $25 for adults and $20 for ages 12 and under.
If you wait to register the day of the race, the cost goes up $5 for both adults and youth. Race day registration begins at 6:45 a.m. and ends at 7:30 a.m.
Registration takes place at Kiwanis Park in downtown Childersburg which is also where the 5K and Fun Run/Walk will start.
5K t-shirts are also available for purchase. They cost $15, and are only guaranteed through the pre-registration period. There will be a limited number of shirts to buy on race day.
The funds raised from the event will go towards the maintenance and potential expansion of Kiwanis Park.
