SYLACAUGA, Ala. – If the B.B. Comer Tigers want to touch down at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn on Dec. 2 for the AHSAA Class 2A football championship game, they’ll first have to ground the Flying Squadron of Highland Home in this Friday night’s semifinal matchup at Legion Stadium.
The showdown between Comer and Highland Home is the first semifinal to be hosted in Sylacauga since 1997. That year, the Sylacauga Aggies hosted a Class 5A semifinal where they were knocked out of the playoffs by the Blount Leopards who were in the midst of appearing in seven state title games throughout the 90’s, winning five of them.
Head Coach Adam Fossett spoke with David McCurley as they discussed the huge quarterfinal win over Reeltown and how the team is preparing through the Thanksgiving break for Highland Home.
