CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda items for action:
The Council approved Kevin Koss as the permanent Police Chief for the city of Childersburg with a brief swearing-in ceremony following the vote.
Earlier this year, Koss was named the Radney-Smith Funeral Home and Sycamore Federal Credit Union First Responder of the Month for June.
Approval was given to Resolution 2022-59 which approved the establishment of an additional bank account at Renasant Bank for the purpose of certificate deposit investment.
The council approved Resolution 2022-60 which approved Richardson Construction to perform storm drain repairs to 4th Ave. NE in Bates Addition in the amount of $17,431 from Fund 75 ARP.
Approval was granted to purchase four transportation surplus vehicles from the Morgan County Commission at a cost not to exceed $15,000 total.
The council approved the purchase of lighting for a softball batting cage facility in the amount of $5,290. They also approved Littleton Electric to install that lighting system at a cost of $3,966.
The city’s liability insurance with Legacy Insurance/AMIC for FY 2023 was approved at an annual premium of $226,664.
Also gaining approval was an agreement with Blair Commercial Roofing to perform sealing of the existing roof system at 705 1st St. SW which is not to exceed a cost of $7,000.
The council approved an emergency bathroom repair at the Butler-Harris-Rainwater House by Simmons Home Improvement at a cost not to exceed $6,500.
Council approval was given for payment of invoices in the amount of $216,717.73.
The next regular meeting of the Childersburg City Council will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022.
