The Childersburg City Council met on Monday, Dec. 15, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:
The Council voted to approve Resolution 2020-33 which gives approval to surplus a pair of trucks, an F150 and Chevy 2500.
Also approved was Resolution 2020-34, which amends and extends a tax abatement for American Metals Group, due to a discrepancy in the initial project costs. The Council also approved Resolution 2020-35, which approved a new tax abatement for American Metals Group for the construction of a new building, approximately 15,000 to 20,000 square feet.
The Council appointed Lance Bell as the new Municipal Judge, effective Jan. 9, 2021.
Approval was given to the Street & Sanitation Department to purchase a pair of vehicles, a 2008 Ford F350 and a 2008 Ford F250 for a total of $13,000 from Adam Ponder. The Council also approved a pair of new maintenance laborers, Christopher Glasscock and John Stone, as part-time, temporary workers at a probationary rate of $8.50 for six months. Following successful completion of that period, they will increase to $9.00.
Payment was approved for invoices in the amount of $231,666.72.
The next regular meeting of the Council will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021.
