SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga Parks and Recreation employee is going to survive after she was attacked by a dog.
Stacy Harry, an employee at the Maxye Veazey Senior Activity Center in the nutrition program, was attacked by a dog Monday while fulfilling one of her duties, delivering meals to seniors in the community. According to Sylacauga Parks and Recreation Director Jim Armstrong, she was attacked from behind while making deliveries on S. Main Ave.
Armstrong said Harry suffered defensive wounds on her arms, legs and head. She was transported by ambulance to Coosa Valley Medical Center before being airlifted to UAB Hospital.
“Stacy is a wonderful person,” said Armstrong. “We just want her to get well soon.”
She is in stable condition condition at UAB, awaiting surgery. Armstrong said the dog was put down.
