SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon with shots fired inside.
Around 4:00 Thursday, the Sylacauga Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at Dixie Drugs on Broadway Ave.
Dixie Drugs was robbed last month overnight with no one present in the building. This time the store was open and occupied.
SPD Chief Kelley Johnson said cash and medication were taken by just one suspect. Johnson explained the owners were able to lock the robber in the building, then shots were fired into the store front’s glass window. The suspect then kicked the glass out and escaped.
Johnson said no one was injured, and a suspect has not been identified.
No more information is available at this time.
