SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Emergency personnel were dispatched to a car accident that left a man trapped in his overturned vehicle Monday morning. The single vehicle crash happened around 11 on S. Broadway Ave. between W. Walnut and W. Clay Streets. When the fire department arrived, the car was emitting smoke.
Sylacauga Police said the driver left the road at approximately 35 to 40 miles-per-hour. The car crashed into the front porch steps of a home on S. Broadway Ave. The collision with the brick steps caused the Toyota Camry to overturn leaving the driver trapped in the vehicle.
The driver was pulled from the vehicle and taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center by ambulance. A paramedic on scene told SylacaugaNews.com the driver did not appear to have any obvious outer physical injuries.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
