SYLACAUGA, Ala. – You will soon see changes to the landscape in front of Sylacauga High School.
The Sylacauga Board of Education has requested for the removal of trees on Broadway Ave. in front of Sylacauga High School.
One of the trees recently split in a storm and others are aging rapidly and/or dying.
The Sylacauga Tree Commission asked the City of Syalcauga for permission to remove the trees and it was granted. The trees will be removed by the Sylacauga Street Dept.
Seven trees across from Albia Steer’s State Farm office on Hwy. 21 will also be removed. Mayor Jim Heigl said those trees have caused significant service outages in recent storms.
