SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Police Department issued a statement Tuesday afternoon responding to an arrest made Monday night in connection to a social media post threatening violence at Sylacauga High School.
In a statement from SPD Chief Kelley Johnson, a 15-year-old female student at SHS has been charged with “Making a Terrorist Threat after a parent notified the SPD Investigations Unit Monday night. A Facebook post was made indicating threatening violence at the school.
“Making a Terrorist Threat” is a Class C Felony charge which could result in punishment ranging from one year and a day to 10 years in prison. The juvenile will be prosecuted in the District Court of Talladega Co., Juvenile Division.
