TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – Talladega County Schools has amended the 2020-2021 school calendar to reflect a new start date for students, Thursday, Aug. 20.
The district announced its decision earlier today. It has also announced a new model to launch the school year. Every student will begin under the “yellow” phase of blended learning.
“The health and safety of our students and school personnel remain our top priority,” the district said in a statement. “Due to the continued rise of COVID-19 cases in both our county and state, Talladega County Schools will begin the 2020-2021 school year under the Blended Learning Model (Yellow Phase).”
TCC wrote the Blended Learning Model allows for increased physical distancing and increased sanitation, and smaller class sizes will also enhance opportunities for individualized instruction to meet students’ needs.
Students will begin on a staggered schedule and assigned to either Group A or B to reflect that schedule. View the district’s Facebook post below.
