SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet Tuesday night at Sylacauga City Hall.
The council will hold a work session at 5:00 with the meeting following shortly after.
New Business:
- Resolution 56-2020 appointing Douglas J. Kyle to the Board of Directors of the Improvement District of the City of Sylacauga.
- Resolution 57-2020 authorizing Street Department to apply for ADEM permit to operate air curtain burner and authorizing Mayor Heigl to sign required documents.
- Resolution 58-2020 declaring 20 acres (Box Mill property) as surplus property and authorize disposition by sale to Sylacauga Utilities Board.
- Accept FY19 audit as prepared by Machen McChesney LLP.
- Application for Special Event Retail beer license from Shelly McLeod Bullard, owner of Fermenter’s Market, Inc. for the BackStreet Rumble event to be held in the back parking lot behind 8 East 2nd Street on August 22, 2020.
- Application for transfer of Retail Beer (off premises only) and Retail Table Wine (off premises only) from Aishwarya Atulbhair Patel, from Central Alabama Management, LLC DBA Hop In 010478, to USB Ventures, Inc. DBA Hop In West Park located at 1207 West Park Street in Sylacauga.
- Approve travel/expenses for Street Supt. Reed Calfee and Street Admin. Secretary Alyssa Womack to attend the Alabama ASCE/APWA 2020 Late Summer Meeting to be held in Gulf Shores September 30 – October 2, 2020. Registration fee is $275.00 per employee. Additional expenses for lodging, mileage, and meals will be incurred. Estimated total expenses for Calfee and Womack are $1,250.00 per employee.
- July payroll in the amount of $420,314.57.
- Balance of Accounts Payable for July in the amount of $182,163.46.

- Brandy Robertson concerning Food World project.
- Discussion of nuisance (grass/weed) proposed ordinance.
- Discussion of possible contract for landscape and horticultural services.

- Discussion of FD inspector and captain promotions.
- Discussion of request to purchase new FD vehicle.
