SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Police Department investigators arrested six people on felony charges in January 2021.
The following information is a rundown of felony arrests made by investigators.
- Jacob Chaz Brasher, 19 year old w/m, from Sylacauga was arrested on Jan. 6, 2021 for Theft of Property 3rd. Brasher was an employee at “Ollie’s Bargain Barn” where the theft occurred. Brasher’s bond was set at $1500.00 by Talladega County District Judge, Jeb Fannin. Brasher has since been released on bond. Theft of Property 3rd is a Class “D” Felony with a sentence ranging from 1 year and 1 day to 5 years.
- Rusty Lee Hartley, 36 year old w/m, from Sylacauga was arrested for Burglary 3rd on Jan. 8, 2021. Hartley is accused of burglarizing a home on Valley Lane in Sylacauga and was caught by the homeowner. Hartley’s bond was set at $15,000.00 by Talladega County Circuit Judge, Will Hollingsworth. Hartley is still incarcerated and is awaiting trial. Burglary 3rd is a Class “C” Felony with a sentence ranging from 1 year and 1 day to 10 years.
- Brandon O’Brian Kennedy, 36 year old b/m from Talladega, was arrested for Robbery 1st on Jan. 21, 2021. Kennedy is accused of taking an undisclosed amount of money from a person at the “Quality Inn” in Sylacauga on the same date. Kennedy’s bond was set at $35,000.00 by Talladega County Circuit Judge, Will Hollingsworth. Kennedy is still incarcerated in Talladega County Jail awaiting trial. Robbery 1st is a Class “A” Felony with a sentence range from 20 years to 99 years, to “Life” in prison.
- Anthony Ray Meeks, 28 year old w/m, from Coosa County, was arrested on Jan. 13, 2021 for Possession of Burglary Tools and with Criminal Mischief 1st. Both charges are a Class “C” Felony. Meeks is accused of entering into the “Coin Laundry” next to “Coleman Cleaners” on Industry Avenue in Sylacauga and forcing open the coin boxes on the machines inside of the building. Meeks’ bonds were set at $17,500.00 by Talladega County Circuit Judge, Will Hollingsworth. Meeks is still incarcerated in Talladega County Jail awaiting trial. Both charges are Class “C” Felonies. Each charge has a sentencing range of 1 year and 1 day to 10 years.
- Eric Brandon Pogue, 31 year old w/m, from Sylacauga was arrested on two (2) counts of Burglary 3rd on Jan. 8, 2021. Pogue is accused of entering the “Piggly Wiggly” on W. Ft. Williams Street and also “Indian Valley Elementary School” and taking items from both. Pogue’s bond was set at $5000.00 by Talladega County District Judge, Jeb Fannin. Pogue is still incarcerated and awaiting trial in the Talladega County Jail. Burglary 3rd is a Class “C” Felony with a sentence ranging from 1 year and 1 day to 10 years.
- Michael Adam Bridges, 41 year old w/m from Sylacauga, was arrested on Jan. 17, 2021 for two (2) counts of Burglary 3rd. Bridges is accused of entering two separate storage units at “Adding Space Storage” in Sylacauga and taking items from each unit. Bridges’ bond was set at $15,000.00 by Talladega County Circuit Court Magistrates. Bridges has since been released on bond. Burglary 3rd is a Class “C” Felony with a sentence ranging from 1 year and 1 day to 10 years.
