‘Social Distancing Parade’ creatively allowing Indian Valley students to see their teacher today

SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Indian Valley Elementary School teachers have not seen their students in over a week.

Sylacauga City Schools closed Monday of last week due to the Coronavirus pandemic leaving elementary school teachers with no way to interact with the students they are used to seeing every weekday.

Today, that will change.

Indian Valley Elementary School teachers are holding a social distancing parade today at 11:00 throughout the city’s neighborhoods, giving them a chance to at least see their students.

The Social Distancing Parade will leave from Nichols-Lawson Middle School traveling through Drew Court, down Main Ave, behind the hospital, Autumn Trace, Taylor Estates, Valley View, Fairmont and Dogwood Cir.

Students are encouraged to come to their porch and wave to their teachers.
