SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Over the weekend Coosa Valley Medical Center hosted its annual Heart and Sole Run.
The Heart and Sole Run is made up of a 5K (3.1 miles) and a one mile fun run. The run benefited Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.
Hundreds came out early Saturday morning to compete and/or fellowship in support of a great cause.
“Our goal is to bring heart health awareness to our community,” said Vanessa Green.
Heart disease is the number one cause of death in both men and women, and in hopes to raise awareness, CVMC offered free heart health screenings in its lobby. “We want to make sure we maintain a healthy community and let out community know we have great healthcare right here in our town.”
According to Green, this year’s race was the biggest one yet. She said she hopes to grow it in the future.
