Volunteers honored at CVMC Auxiliary Awards Banquet

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Thursday, Coosa Valley Medical Center honored more than fifty volunteers at its annual Auxiliary Awards Banquet at First Presbyterian Church.

Every year, volunteers are recognized for their support of the hospital’s efforts in patient care.

“Coosa Valley Medical Center is very blessed to have our Auxiliary as a part of our team/family this group of individuals impact the lives of others daily and they minister to our guest, said Vanessa Green, Chief Business Development Officer. “It may be a hot cup a coffee, a walk through the facility or the person that greets you with a smile it all makes a difference especially in our healthcare setting, we are so thankful  for the dedication & commitment of these great men and women of our community.”

Green presented awards to Auxiliary members and the installation of 2017-2018 officers took place as well.

Cancer survivor Heather Adair was the guest speaker at the event. She shared her story about her fight with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and her faith in God. She then performed a dance celebrating her victory over cancer, praising the Lord.

The Coosa Valley Medical Center Auxiliary is a valuable part of the medical center. Auxilians have provided volunteer support, compassionate service, and served as a goodwill ambassador to the facility since 1982. The Auxiliary raises thousands of dollars annually that is used to provide equipment and services to patients and community as a whole. Annually, the Auxilians contributed approximately 14,000 hours.
