Vehicle crashes into Coosa River; driver pronounced dead at scene

TALLADEGA, Ala. –  A single vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Talladega woman.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Friday morning at 12:39 a.m. Bridget Rochelle Braxton, 40, was killed when her 2012 Acura TL left the highway and entered the Coosa River.

Troopers say Braxton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on I-20 near mile marker 165, approximately one mile east of Riverside. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
