Talladega woman loses life in two-vehicle crash

SYCAMORE, Ala. – A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Talladega woman.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 12:05 p.m., Nicole Carden Johns, 35, was killed on Hwy. 21 when the 1999 Ford F-150 she was driving crossed the center line and collided with a 1998 Ford Windstar.

Johns pickup truck then left the roadway, overturned and collided with a tree. Johns was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Windstar was identified as Rush McDonald, 68, from Sylacauga. McDonald was taken by private vehicle to Coosa Valley Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash occurred four miles north of Sycamore. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
