TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash five miles south of Oxford claimed the life of a Munford girl on Saturday afternoon.

According to Alabama State Troopers, the 15-year-old was a passenger in a car being driven by a teenager from Lincoln who lost control of her 2002 Honda Civic, which struck a tree when the vehicle left Richeytown Road at 12:35 p.m.

The 17-year-old driver was taken to Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Her front seat passenger was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Pell City, where she died as a result of her injuries.

No further information is available as State Troopers continue to investigate.
