CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – One man is dead and another is injured after an early Saturday morning shooting at a Childersburg bar.
Childersburg Police Chief Rick McClelland told SylacaugaNews.com the shooting occurred at Pure Cigar and Hookah Lounge, located just inside the city limit by the river bridge, just after midnight at 12:18 Saturday morning.
When Childersburg Police arrived at the scene 38-year-old Rodney Tremaine Posey, of Sylacauga, was already dead after suffering a gun shot wound.
Candarious Tremayne Marbury was also shot and taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center. At the time CPD did not know Marbury was shot as he was taken to the local hospital without notifying the police.
There is no evidence leading to a motive or suspect at this time.
McClelland said CPD is investigating the case, and no more information is available.
